Ashlee Simpson Wentz's BiographyAshlee Nicolle Simpson was born October 3, 1984 in Texas has achieved recognition as a pop rock singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and fashion designer (T Shirts for Wet Seal).
Ashlee started her career as a dancer and eventually was a back up singer on big sister Jessica's tours. Her own debut album, Autobiography rose to the top of the charts and she starred in her own reality TV show during the release of her CD. The show as called The Ashlee Simpson Show.
She received fan backlash when she used a pre-recorded vocal track on Saturday Night Live and through a technical error it was clear she was lip synching. She ran off the air which was a Saturday Night first. She also caused controversy with several of her romantic ties as well as jumping up on a counter in a fast food restaurant and telling a fan to kiss her feet. Her second CD, I Am Me, was released in late 2005. Her third album is due out in April of 2008.
Besides being known as the younger sister of Jessica Simpson, she has made a name for herself through her controversial hairstyles, cuts and colors. During the course of her rising performing career she morphed from blonde to black, honey and strawberry blonde to platinum and then red. She was quoted in the April 14th issue of Life & Style Magazine as saying "I always saw myself with blue hair in a band".
Ashlee has been very vocal about her displeasure at being compared to her sister although they have a very close relationship. Ashlee often uses the same hair and make-up experts (Ken Paves & Mary Phillips) as her big sister.
On her reality TV show Ashlee suffered vocal problems and has had a close but bumpy relationship with her famous father.
Ashlee has also courted controversy with her plastic surgery on her nose (she refused to confirm it initially), her use of hair extensions which she did not wish to discuss and her recent engagement to rocker Pete Wentz of the group Fall Out Boys.
She has admitted to being one part girlie girl and one part tomboy to Life & Style Magazine. She has many close girlfriends and has confessed to a minor eating disorder.
Although initially she was considered to be in the shadow of her big sister, she achieved more fame and is no longer considered by fans to be anything like Jessica...much to Ashlee's pleasure.

It was reported that Ashlee Simpson and her long time beau (Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy) were spotted at the New York Knicks basketball game on December 15 and Ashlee who was long and blonde at the time, was spotted wearing a diamond band on her left ring finger.
